Memorial service: 1 p.m. Friday at St. Anne's Episcopal Church, 6055 Azle Ave., Fort Worth.

Bob was born June 11, 1942, in Houston. His family relocated to Courtland, Kan., in 1948. He attended school there through high school. He received his BA in piano from Wichita State University and completed his MA in woodwinds at the University of North Texas. He was the choir master and organist at St. Anne's Episcopal Church and the director of the New Horizons Band of Dallas.
Survivors: His wife, Barbara Hallie Austin; parents, Loren and Vivian Austin of Salina, Kan.; his "children," Scott Uhrig, Robin McBride and Warren Spiker; and his grandchildren, R. Ryan McBride and Emerson Spiker.
